San Francisco (AZL) Giants catcher Bobby Ponce had a day to remember at Sloan Park, ripping apart the Chicago N (AZL) Cubs and sparking the 9-1 Giants win.

Ponce wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Ponce told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Bobby Ponce hit a GRAND SLAM off John Benzie in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off John Benzie in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
