Rangers Topple Angels, 9-6, as Baltzell Shines
|
The Texas (AZL) Rangers downed the Los Angeles A (AZL) Angels, 9-6, at Surprise Stadium. Zach Baltzell led the way, going 4-for-5 for Texas (AZL). Texas (AZL) reliever Edgar Acevedo picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mike Farringer absorbed the loss. The West Division-leading Rangers have a record of 32-13.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rangers grabbed the lead when Josh Weber rapped a two-out single. Texas (AZL) was trailing 5-4, when Weber hit a 2-run single off Mike Farringer to put his team in front, 6-5.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Baltzell, "one at-bat at a time."
