The Texas (AZL) Rangers pinned a convincing loss on the Oakland (AZL) Athletics, 10-2, at Surprise Stadium. Sergio Gonzalez was a main factor in the win. He went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Texas (AZL). Jose Velazquez got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Athletics to no runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Texas (AZL) is now 26-20, Oakland (AZL) 28-19.

Chris Guay had a big run-scoring double for the Rangers in the bottom of the third inning. With Texas (AZL) leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Bobby Krout, who is tied for 5th in the AZL in innings pitched with 56.1, and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.

"We were firing on all cylinders," said Rangers manager Danny Rios.
