The 10-2 New York N (GCL) win over Minnesota (GCL) was due largely to Jason Metzger. The Mets shortstop went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The win gives the Mets a record of 2-2.

New York N (GCL) used the bat of Rich Schweitzer to get the win. The catcher hit a fastball from Jeremy O'Leary out of the park for a 2-run home run. The blast came in the top of the second inning and put the Mets on top, 2-0. It was Schweitzer's lone hit, but it left a mark.

"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Randy Conrad.
