Richmond Earn 3-0 Victory at FirstEnergy Stadium
|
Richmond Flying Squirrels pitcher Eric Lewis was in fine form, leading his team past the Reading Fightin Phils, 3-0. Lewis, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Jason McKnight notched his 2nd save of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Aaron Sadler? The Richmond first baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 2-0. For the game, Sadler had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Lewis.
The loss has the Fightin Phils at 13-8.
