Slumping Nationals Lose 8th Straight
Bobby Olmsted, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2110 draft, propelled his team to victory over the Washington (GCL) Nationals. The final score was 4-3, Baltimore (GCL). Alfonso de la Vega, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. With the win, Baltimore (GCL) is 7-1.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 23-year old second baseman Brian Simpson had a real shot to win the game. Washington (GCL) pitcher Chris Tucker was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Simpson hit a run-scoring single. The Orioles had a walk-off triumph.

Washington (GCL) manager Aaron Curry, after yet another defeat, said: "We don't want to panic. At the same time, we need to stop the bleeding."
