The Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays welcomed the Las Vegas (GCL) Hustle to an afternoon game at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

Las Vegas (GCL) wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Matt Thornton, falling to the Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays, 5-3. Thornton threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Chris Daniels got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, John Johnson was at the plate when Toronto (GCL) scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blue Jays to go in front, 4-3.

"This was a good win," said Johnson.

The win leaves Toronto (GCL) with a record of 2-5.
