Tampa Bay (GCL) second baseman Stuart Turner had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Turner went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Pittsburgh (GCL) beat the Rays, 6-2. Pittsburgh (GCL) reliever Ramon Hernandez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Eric Yarbrough took the loss. The Pirates saw their win-loss record go to 20-17. At the same time, the Rays fell to 19-18.

Allen Morrison had a big 2-run double for the Pirates in the top of the first inning. With Pittsburgh (GCL) leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Eric Yarbrough and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pirates ahead, 3-0.

"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Morrison.
