The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Dave Thornton into a win. Instead, the Colorado (GCL) Rockies prevailed, 3-2. Thornton threw 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs. With the win, Colorado (GCL) goes to 6-4.

In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, the Cardinals allowed the Rockies to take a 3-2 lead on a base hit and St. Louis (GCL) error.

Parson told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
