Barnes Victimizes Pirates
The Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays got great pitching from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Erik Barnes, allowing them to bump off the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates, 4-0. The loss drops Pittsburgh (GCL) to 3-8.

Barnes, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 13 in 8 innings and gave up no runs.

Barnes, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2113 draft, moves to 1-0 on the year with 22 strikeouts.

"We had trouble making good contact against Erik," said Pittsburgh (GCL) manager Vinny Romo.
