The New York A (GCL) Yankees took on the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays at Timberwolves Stadium.
New York A (GCL) got a strong outing from Jim Unknown as the Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays, 4-1, at Timberwolves Stadium. Unknown, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
The Yankees got a big at-bat from left fielder Danny Correa. For the game, Correa went 1-3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave New York A (GCL) a 4-1 lead.
