The Las Vegas (GCL) Hustle defeated the New York N (GCL) Mets, 10-4, in part because of second baseman Johnny Fauss. Fauss was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Hustle. Carlos Sainz, the winner, goes to 1-1. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 9 strikeouts over 6.2 innings. The last-place Hustle bumped their record to 7-9.

Brad Bateman had a big 3-run home run for the Hustle in the bottom of the first inning. With Las Vegas (GCL) leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from Milton Minner, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2113 draft, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Hustle on top, 5-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Las Vegas (GCL) skipper Jose Ochoa.
