The Houston (GCL) Astros had to overcome a good performance from Tampa Bay (GCL) pitcher Mike Chase to claim a 3-2 win at Louisville Grounds. Chase went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The second-place Astros now have a win-loss record of 12-7.

Houston (GCL) used a timely hit from 21-year old left fielder Pat Pepka to get the win. The pinch hitter delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Astros on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was huge.

"Credit where credit is due," said Pepka, "this was a team win."
