Blue Jays Net 7-6 Win Over Nationals
|
Washington (GCL) got a terrific game from shortstop Carlos Padilla. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Toronto (GCL), 7-6. Padilla was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Toronto (GCL) reliever Gary Norris got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Pedro Ibanez was tagged with the loss. The second-place Blue Jays raised their record to 16-5.
Cory Jackson, the 18-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Jackson contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Toronto (GCL) up, 5-4.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Jackson.
