Astros Use Late Rally to Win 11th Straight
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Houston (GCL) Astros.

Johnny Gibson propelled his team to victory over the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates. The final score was 5-3, Houston (GCL). The win went to Hugo Jimenez in relief, making him now 2-0. David Nisly took the loss for Pittsburgh (GCL).

Houston (GCL) used a timely hit from 23-year old center fielder Jason Ayres to get the win. The pinch hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Astros on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was huge.

"Johnny attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Houston (GCL) manager Edgardo Avalos.

The Astros have a robust 10½-game lead in the Northeast Division.
