Mosquitos Ballpark was the site for Gulf Coast Rookie League action featuring the Colorado (GCL) Rockies and Minnesota (GCL) Twins.

The Minnesota (GCL) Twins beat the Colorado (GCL) Rockies, 5-2. Minnesota (GCL) pitcher and Tinaquillo, Venezuela, native Albert Portillo led the way. Portillo went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-1.

Minnesota (GCL) used a well-timed hit by Chris Crum to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Twins ahead, 5-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Crum told the Minnesota (GCL) Daily News.

The Twins improved to 30-24.
