Mets left fielder Craig Berntsen put his stamp on his team's 6-0 win over the Philadelphia (GCL) Phillies. Berntsen went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for New York N (GCL) in the contest. The Mets move to 17-12 with the win, while the Phillies drop to 8-21.
Josh Roberts had a big 3-run home run for the Mets in the bottom of the seventh inning. With New York N (GCL) leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Mets on top, 6-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Philadelphia (GCL) manager Bill Nolt.
