Mets Drop to .500 After 1-0 Loss to Cardinals

The umbrellas came out during the St. Louis (GCL)-New York N (GCL) contest at Roger Dean Stadium.
New York N (GCL) pitcher Justin Meyer gave the Cardinals all they could handle, but in the end, St. Louis (GCL) left Roger Dean Stadium with a win, 1-0. Meyer allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 6.2 innings. St. Louis (GCL) pitcher Bill Hughes earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Justin Meyer suffered the loss.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from catcher Matt Ferrantelli. For the game, Ferrantelli was 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave St. Louis (GCL) a 1-0 lead.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said St. Louis (GCL) skipper Jayden Dunbar.
Their 22-8 record puts the Cardinals first in the East Division.
