The Detroit (GCL) Tigers and Atlanta (GCL) Braves played an exciting game.

The Detroit (GCL) Tigers knocked off the Atlanta (GCL) Braves, 4-3, in Gulf Coast Rookie League action at Champion Stadium. Detroit (GCL) pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Brian Medina had an outstanding performance. Medina got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 6th save of the year was Ryan Cardone.

Detroit (GCL) used the hitting of Steve Bruno to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Tigers on top, 3-1. For the game, Bruno had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Ah," said Bruno in a jubilant clubhouse, "the sweet smell of victory!."
