The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals knocked off the Houston (GCL) Astros, 6-4, in Gulf Coast Rookie League action at Ballpark of Belvedere. St. Louis (GCL) pitcher and Norfolk, Virginia, native Chris Rapley had an outstanding performance. Rapley, now 7-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. St. Louis (GCL) now has a record of 47-17 with the win.

St. Louis (GCL) designated hitter Aaron Horchem contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 5-2.

"We ground out the win," said Rapley. "That's all that matters."
