Twins Knock Off Blue Jays at Hammond Stadium

The Minnesota (GCL) Twins beat the Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays, 3-0. Minnesota (GCL) pitcher and Waterloo, Canada, native Don Skiffington led the way. Pablo Herrera earned the save for Minnesota (GCL), his 8th. Minnesota (GCL) is now 19-17. Toronto (GCL) is 7-29.
The Blue Jays had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Twins going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old left fielder Alex Ybarra came to the plate. Ybarra hit a 2-run triple on a 3-1 fastball from Toronto (GCL) hurler Miles Glass. It was Ybarra's 1st triple of the year.
Ybarra was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Minnesota (GCL) Times, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
