Pirates Beat Hustle, 4-2

Pittsburgh (GCL) starter Clint Sims had a strong outing against the Las Vegas (GCL) Hustle at Pirate City Complex. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Sims got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Sims allowed 2 runs. Aaron Coughlin earned the save for Pittsburgh (GCL), his 6th of the year.
Jason McGhin had a big run-scoring double for the Pirates in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Pittsburgh (GCL) leading 3-2 and a runner on 3rd, he got a curveball from Fernando Velez and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pirates ahead, 4-2.
Las Vegas (GCL) manager Pat Gilman said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
With the win, Pittsburgh (GCL) raised its record to 22-17.
