Though the conditions were not ideal, the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates and Las Vegas (GCL) Hustle came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates soundly defeated the Las Vegas (GCL) Hustle, 13-0, at Pirate City Complex. Pat Mountain, who is tied for 3rd in the GCL in doubles with 12, let his bat do the talking. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for Pittsburgh (GCL). Kevin Taylor was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he yielded no runs on 2 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.

With Pittsburgh (GCL) leading 7-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Mountain came up to bat against Las Vegas (GCL) pitcher Jim Unknown. Mountain hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Pirates on top, 11-0.

Las Vegas (GCL) manager Joel Bousquet called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."
