Rays Lose at Home, 5-1
The Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays defeated the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays, 5-1. Doing his part was catcher Justin Benefield, who went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Toronto (GCL) reliever Dave Grey snagged the win, upping his record to 4-0. Germano Folha shouldered the loss. The Blue Jays are now 26-17, while the Rays fall to 28-16.

The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from left fielder Joe Kief. For the game, Kief went 1 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Toronto (GCL) a 2-0 lead.

Kief expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
