Blue Jays Win Thriller, 7-4
|
The Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates and Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays left the fans buzzing.
The Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays stopped the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates, 7-4, in 10 innings at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The Blue Jays got a big game from Joe Bentley, who was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The second-place Blue Jays sport a record of 33-16.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the tenth. With Toronto (GCL) trailing 4-3, Bentley jumped on a slider from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Bryan Callahan and hit a grand slam home run to right-center. With one swing, the Blue Jays had a walk-off win.
Bentley told a Toronto (GCL) Daily reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
