The Pirates grabbed a win, 4-3, at Pirate City Complex, overcoming a fine effort from Houston (GCL) pitcher Chris Dorsey. Dorsey went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Pirates go to 22-29, putting them second in the Northwest Division.

Greg Ambriz drove in one run for Pittsburgh (GCL). The 19-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Donnie Edwards. It was his 24th RBI of the season.

Ambriz attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
