New York N (GCL) pitcher Wayne Abresch did his part in helping his team beat the Houston (GCL) Astros, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Mets, at 37-15, have a comfortable 17-game lead in their division.
New York N (GCL) relied on the bat of Tony Romero to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-0. For the game, Romero had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Abresch said.
