Orioles 3-1 Winners Over Houston (GCL)
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Ed Smith Stadium. But 19-year old shortstop Roy Baranick produced just enough offense to carry the Orioles past the Houston (GCL) Astros, 3-1. Baranick was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Baltimore (GCL) now sits at 35-18, while Houston (GCL) falls to 35-19.
Jorge Acevedo helped out the Baltimore (GCL) cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Orioles manager Moises Sanchez. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
