Pirates Knock Off Blue Jays at Pirate City Complex
The timely hitting of Chris Ricketts helped the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates down the Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays, 7-0. Ricketts went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs for the Pirates. Pittsburgh (GCL) reliever Danny Cortez was the winner. His record is now 6-1. Zach Middendorf took the loss. Joseph Gargallo earned the save for Pittsburgh (GCL), his 3rd of the year.

The Pirates got a lift from first baseman Harry Romero, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season put the Pirates on top, 3-0.

"Winning is the only objective," said Romero after the game.

The third-place Pirates now have a win-loss record of 30-24.
