Walk-Off Win Makes St. Louis (GCL) 35-21
The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.

The St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals knocked off the Washington (GCL) Nationals, 2-1, in Gulf Coast Rookie League action at Roger Dean Stadium. St. Louis (GCL) pitcher and Centerville, Ohio, native Steve Waldrop had an outstanding performance. Enrique Mendez got credit for the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.

St. Louis (GCL) got a game-changing hit from Jamie Webb. The designated hitter blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.

"Both teams played hard," said St. Louis (GCL) manager Jayden Dunbar.

St. Louis (GCL), at 35-21, sits in first place in the East Division.
