Astros Keep Streak Alive With 6-2 Win
The Houston (GCL) Astros defeated the Minnesota (GCL) Twins, 6-2, in Gulf Coast Rookie League action at Hammond Stadium. Houston (GCL) pitcher Mike Gardner had a standout performance. Gardner got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Houston (GCL), now 44-13, has won 10 straight games.

Houston (GCL) used the timely hitting of Hong-bo Ng to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Astros on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We feel like we're going to win every game right now," said Houston (GCL) skipper Edgardo Avalos.
