Cardinals Handed 6-5 Loss by Red Sox
The Boston (GCL) Red Sox and St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

No one was more impactful than Ernie Bennett in the 6-5 Boston (GCL) win over St. Louis (GCL). Bennett, who is tied for 2nd in the GCL in stolen bases with 25, was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. The winner was Boston (GCL) reliever Danny Pineyro, now 3-3. The loser was Marco Loreto.

Tom Ray drove in one run for Boston (GCL). With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ray, who is tied for 4th in the GCL in RBI with 37, had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Louis (GCL) hurler Arvid Krosby, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Red Sox a 6-5 lead.

"Time to decompress after a tough win," said Bennett.

The last-place Red Sox now have a record of 21-36.
