The San Diego (AZL) Padres got a marvelous performance from pitcher Jayden Simmons. The left-hander kept the Milwaukee (AZL) offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 1-0 San Diego (AZL) victory at Peoria Sports Complex. Sam Linder, who leads the AZL in wins with 7, was the winner in relief. His record is now 7-1. The losing pitcher was Aaron Kenny. San Diego (AZL) sits in first place in the West Division at 29-21.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when San Diego (AZL) first baseman Julio Aldana, facing Aaron Kenny, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Padres the 1-0 win.

"This place sure got loud," said Ken Collins, the San Diego (AZL) manager.
