Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Jackson Simms, the San Diego (AZL) Padres defeated the Texas (AZL) Rangers, 7-0. Simms went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Padres. The win elevated the Padres to 36-20.

Early in the game, catcher Eddie Friedman had a 2-run double for San Diego (AZL). It was his 4th double of the season and put the Padres on top, 2-0.
