Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Akron RubberDucks and Erie SeaWolves.

The Erie SeaWolves went down to defeat to Daniel Aitken and his Akron teammates. The final score was 4-1, in favor of the RubberDucks. The winning pitcher was Aitken, now 1-2. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4.

Keith Gustafson had a big 2-run home run for the RubberDucks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Akron leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a splitter from Edgar Perez, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in doubles with 9, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the RubberDucks on top, 4-1.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gustafson told the Akron Bulletin.

Erie, with the loss, is still a robust 16-7.
