RubberDucks Get Past Harrisburg, 1-0
|
It was pandemonium at Canal Park after an exciting walk-off win.
In a low-scoring contest between the Akron RubberDucks and the Harrisburg Senators, Tommie Depperman, who is tied for 5th in the EL in innings pitched with 34.0, proved to be the difference. The Akron right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 RubberDucks win. The winner was Akron reliever Oscar Mota, now 1-1. The loser was Carlos Rivera.
The RubberDucks got a clutch hit from right fielder Juan Torres. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the RubberDucks.
Torres said his team "played with determination."
The win leaves Akron with a record of 11-12.
