Jim Grangroth pitched well, but the Houston (GCL) Astros still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the New York A (GCL) Yankees at Ballpark of Belvedere. Jim Unknown earned the win. Jim Grangroth, who leads the GCL in complete games with 4, took the loss for Houston (GCL). The last-place Yankees hiked their record to 12-51.
Joe Cunningham had a direct impact on the outcome. Cunningham contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put New York A (GCL) up, 3-2.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" New York A (GCL) manager Noah Fourie said.
