Angels Bats Go Cold Against Emeralds
|
David Jones put on a pitching clinic, while helping the Eugene Emeralds beat the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels, 3-0. Doug Curtis closed it out for his 7th save. The Emeralds improved their record to 34-13 with the win over Los Angeles A (SS-A).
Jones was the winning pitcher. He raised his season record to 3-1. In 8 innings of work, Jones gave up no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 11. The Angels were never able to generate much offense.
"David pounded the zone relentlessly tonight," said Eugene manager Valentino Garzelli.
