Win Makes Dodgers 29-21
|
The Chicago A (SS-A) White Sox could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Phil Nesbitt into a win. Instead, the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers prevailed, 1-0. Nesbitt threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Gregorio Pina, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 3. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Los Angeles N (SS-A).
Los Angeles N (SS-A) used a well-timed hit by Jose Lopez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Dodgers manager Zach Turner, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
