Royals Prevail, 3-1, Over Atlanta (SS-A)
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Kansas City (SS-A) Royals and the Atlanta (SS-A) Braves, Armando Rosa, who is tied for 6th in the NWL in wins with 5, proved to be the difference. The Kansas City (SS-A) right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Royals win. Kansas City (SS-A) reliever Armando Rosa, who is tied for 10th in the NWL with a 1.00 WHIP, was credited with the win. His record goes to 5-1. Nathan Shaw took the loss for Atlanta (SS-A). The Royals, at 21-29, lead by one game in their division.
Had William Torres not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Torres hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Royals.
"Everything was on," said Rosa.
