Los Angeles A (SS-A) Rallies to 3-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels and the Hillsboro Hops, pitcher Ismael Rangel was the difference between victory and defeat. The Los Angeles A (SS-A) right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-0 Angels win. Los Angeles A (SS-A) reliever Ray Turner picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Javier Guzman absorbed the loss. Los Angeles A (SS-A) now owns a record of 24-25.
Los Angeles A (SS-A) used a timely hit from Andy Chiera to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Angels ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Whenever I help the team," said Chiera, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
