The Vancouver Canadians and Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels put on quite a show.
The Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels wasted an impressive 7.1-inning effort from starter Max Prentice, falling, 2-1, to the Vancouver Canadians at Oxnard Grounds. Matt Burch notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-7. Reagan Maitland, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Vancouver used a timely hit from Eddie Aguinaga to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Canadians ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Aguinaga told the Vancouver News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
The win makes Vancouver 23-28.
