Eugene beat Milwaukee (SS-A) on the strength of starting pitcher Adam Wilson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-1. Wilson got the win, improving to 4-4. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Vinny Pena recorded the save, his 1st.

The Emeralds got a big hit from first baseman Tom Rich. Facing Milwaukee (SS-A) pitcher Al Rios in the bottom of the fifth, Rich pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Emeralds ahead, 7-0.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Eugene manager Santos Nunez.
