The Everett AquaSox got a superb performance from pitcher Branden McDonald, but the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes still won the game, 1-0. McDonald threw 8.1 innings of 1-hit ball. Salem-Keizer has a record of 26-29, placing them third in the West Division.
The Volcanoes got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Ed Garza. In the bottom of the ninth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Volcanoes.
Garza said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
