Reds Win 4th Straight, Take Down Volcanoes, 1-0
|
In a well-pitched game between the Cincinnati (SS-A) Reds and the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, pitcher Angelo Carrillo was fantastic. The Cincinnati (SS-A) right-hander helped his team secure the win, 1-0. The winning pitcher was Carrillo, now 5-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. James Nolan earned the save for Cincinnati (SS-A), his 5th.
It could have been a different outcome for Cincinnati (SS-A), had it not been for Rich Mirabella, the 23-year old left fielder . Mirabella contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Cincinnati (SS-A) up, 1-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Cincinnati (SS-A) manager Kyle Macholl said.
Cincinnati (SS-A) has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
