Rallying Canadians Get 1-0 Win
|
Vancouver Canadians starter Elias Rangel was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers, 1-0. Vancouver reliever Josh Widmer picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Izzy Dominguez took the loss. Adam Sullivan closed the door for Vancouver, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Ryan Ostlund drove in one run for Vancouver. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Ostlund had a clutch at-bat. Facing Milwaukee (SS-A) hurler Izzy Dominguez, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Canadians a 1-0 lead.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Ostlund told the Vancouver Chronicle.
Today's win puts Vancouver at 28-31, while Milwaukee (SS-A) falls to 32-27.
