The Eugene Emeralds and Kansas City (SS-A) Royals were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Kansas City (SS-A) Royals handed the Eugene Emeralds a sound defeat, 11-3, at Melaleuca Field. Juan Torrez was a main contributor to the win. He went 2-5 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Kansas City (SS-A). With the win, Kansas City (SS-A) goes to 26-35, while the Emeralds fall to 39-21.

The Royals got a big hit from center fielder Andy Santiago. In the bottom of the sixth, Santiago pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 16th double of the season put the Royals ahead, 4-0.
