Hawks Edge Angels, 2-1
The Boise Hawks, behind a great outing from Jimmy Beekman, who is tied for 6th in the NWL in innings pitched with 73.2, defeated the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels, 2-1, at Memorial Stadium. Byron Hodo finished the game for Boise and earned his 2nd save. The second-place Hawks now have a record of 38-25.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Hawks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when catcher Clyde Henneberry hit a 2-run single. The single came off Graviel Longo and made the score 2-0, Hawks. Henneberry was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Hawks manager Albert Favela, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
