The bats were silent much of the day at Timberwolves Stadium. But Jeff Courtney conjured up just enough offense to carry the Yankees past the Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays, 2-0. Courtney went 1 for 3 with a home run. New York A (GCL) reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ivan Chaves took the loss. With the win over Toronto (GCL), the Yankees improved to 29-31.

With New York A (GCL) leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Courtney hit a slider from Gary Norris for a solo home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 2-0.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Courtney.
