Vancouver Topples Atlanta (SS-A), 5-2
|
The Vancouver Canadians beat the Atlanta (SS-A) Braves, 5-2. Vancouver pitcher and Anacortes, Washington, native Jim Rainey led the way. Picking up the save was Justin Forsythe, his 11th. The Canadians are now 41-22, while the Braves fall to 12-51.
Joe Miller drove in one run for Vancouver. The 21-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brad Reddick. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Miller. "And not try to do too much."
