Brewers Defeated, 7-1, After Hillsboro Rallies

The Hillsboro Hops beat the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers, 7-1. Hillsboro pitcher and Harrisonburg, Virginia, native Matt Evrard led the way. Ruben Gomez notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. The Hops improved their record to 45-19 by beating Milwaukee (SS-A).
Connor Ellsworth drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Hillsboro. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Ellsworth, who is tied for 9th in the NWL with a .384 on-base percentage, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Milwaukee (SS-A) hurler Edgar Cortez, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Hops a 2-1 lead.
