Big Day for Karwacki: Swats 5 Hits
|
Chad Karwacki knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Lancaster Grounds, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 19-year-old right fielder hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels fell, 12-7, to the Minnesota (SS-A) Twins.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Twins manager Justin Dupree told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Karwacki wasn't the difference."
Chad Karwacki singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year, Karwacki is batting .317 with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
