Minnesota (SS-A) Absorbs 6-1 Loss to Kansas City (SS-A)
|
Starting pitcher Sieb Bakker was a major factor in the 6-1 Kansas City (SS-A) Royals triumph over the Minnesota (SS-A) Twins. The winning pitcher was Bakker, now 9-0. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Kansas City (SS-A), at 34-31, holds down last place in the North Division.
Fred Allday had a big 3-run home run for the Royals in the bottom of the second inning. With Kansas City (SS-A) leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a slider from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Espinosa and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 5-0.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Allday. "And vice-versa."
